One of the best places to fish in all of northeast Louisiana. It is a great wilderness area within a short distance of town. The only downside is the veritable plethora of inconsiderate jackalopes blowing by in bass boats.

Very peaceful and beautiful

Great for fishing and hunting..

This is a fine place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of North East Louisiana. We enjoyed walking in the woods and a safari drive down Deep Well Road, we saw White-tailed Deer, American toads, several Wood Storks, White Egrets and Kingfishers and a variety of interesting fungi, wild flowers, insects and reptiles. Mississippi Map Turtles, Spiny Soft-shelled Turtles and Red Eared Sliders. The woods have a very open feeling and lovely light for photography.

Beautiful place! Be sure and check out the lookout tower.
